The unit itself has no on/off button. It just runs when the power is connected. But I can't switch it off with the remote control. Is this how it is supposed to be and do I always have to unplug the power cable or is there a defect?

Hello Tom820, I can switch off the unit with the remote control. When switched off, the unit lights up red, when switched on it lights up blue. Hope this helps.
