Information about the sweep movement:
A sweep movement is nearly silent, as the seconds and minute hands move in a nearly gliding manner due to a finer gear ratio. Since there are minimal mechanical forces acting on the hands, the clock noise is extremely minimized. It can only be heard when the ear is placed close to the mechanism.
For customers outside Germany:
The radio clock is controlled by the time signal from Frankfurt. This signal reaches approximately 1500 km. If this distance is exceeded or if there are radio interferences, the clock will operate like a normal quartz clock. The clock does not have a time zone adjustment. The user manual is included in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch.
