Temperatures are rising and the water’s calling. Whether you’re walking along the beach, kayaking or stand-up paddling, your feet will have a good time in these water shoes.

Some love to have their feet massaged by sand and pebbles. Others prefer to protect their soles from hard stones and sharp objects when they go for a dip. If you identify with the second group and are in need of a pair for water activities, you might find the right ones here.

The all-rounder

You’ve planned an active holiday. Your shoes should be just as suitable for paths by the stream as they are for a few steps in the water. But you also want to wear them in town or restaurants, so they should dry quickly. The Hyperport H2 sandal from Keen is the perfect all-rounder.

The minimalist

You’re travelling with very little luggage, but want to protect the soles of your feet in the river or on the lake side? Then the Aqua Cloud sandals from Xero might be for you. The strappy sandals from barefoot-shoe manufacturer Xero are also suitable as camp shoes and for shorter walks on easy paths.

All-round protection

Sharp shell edges or even sea urchins on the seabed near the shore? Named after a Hawaiian island, the Molokai shoes from Cressi help prevent stinging animals and sharp objects from hurting you.

The classic water shoe

With the Surfknit Pro from Speedo, you’ll be protected when you’re walking along the seashore or coming back from a stand-up paddle tour. The shoes are stretchy and dry quickly. The insole can be removed to speed up the drying process even more. You also have various colours to choose from.

For the swimming pool

If you’re looking for shoes that stay on your feet when you dive in the pool, the transparent Water shoes from Cressi could be something for you. They’re barely noticeable and provide light protection in and around the pool. However, they have a very narrow cut and aren’t suitable for wider feet. If in doubt, get ones in a bigger size.

This is just a small selection of shoes for splashing around, going swimming and doing other water activities. You haven’t found the right ones for you? Then you might find exactly what you’re looking for here.
