Coca-Cola Orange Cream: much ado about ... little orange

More than half a year after its launch in North America, I finally tried it: Coca-Cola Orange Cream. Was it worth the wait?

Orange Cream! When Coca-Cola announced this new flavour at the beginning of 2025, I was a little hyped. But the downer followed immediately: the brown sugar water with an orange and creamy flavour will probably be reserved for the USA and Canada. This was stated by the media office of Coca-Cola Austria & Switzerland in mid-February upon enquiry.

Nevertheless, I was confident that the day would come when I would taste a Coca-Cola Orange Cream in this country. And what can I say: I was patient - and right.

Where is the orange?

And, did it taste good, you want to know? Hey, yes, Coca-Cola Orange Cream is quite alright. Average, I would say. Why didn't it knock my socks off? Because I miss the advertised orange. And the cream too, actually.

What I'm drinking reminds me much more of a Vanilla Coke than anything else. It's delicious, but not at all what I was expecting. To be fair: the can actually says «Orange Vanilla Flavoured». Well then, why not christen the concoction that and not Orange Cream!

Vanilla also clearly dominates the next sips. With the best will in the world, I can only detect a hint of orange or citrus. Too bad, I was hoping for a more fruity flavour. It doesn't have to be a speciality blend like Mezzo Mix («Cola küsst Orange»), but I think there would have been a little more orange in it.

And where's the carbonation in the glass?

I drink most of it straight from the can. It's always best from the original container, at least that's what the perceived flavour makes me think.

I also take a few sips from the glass in a civilised manner. I notice how a lot of carbon dioxide bubbles away very quickly during the transfer from the can to the glass. And as most of you know: stale Coca-Cola doesn't work at all! I've never noticed this as blatantly as with Orange Cream in any other Coca-Cola drink.

Tasting for yourself makes you smart

Have I leased the wisdom of good taste? Certainly not! So if you want to know whether and how good Coca-Cola Orange Cream tastes to you, don't rely on my taste buds and test it yourself. The bad news is that you won't find it Now in stock. But there are supposed to be other ways to get hold of products ... Just don't tell anyone!

If, like me, you like a fruity flavour, why not try Coca-Cola Cherry? I think the mix is quite successful. I can certainly taste the cherry flavour without any problems.
