Daylight at the touch of a button: the TL 100 is a mood enhancer with extras

The TL 100 from Beurer shines like a little sun in my study. The light therapy lamp scores points with its dimmer function, timer and associated app.

You can find out more about the topic of light therapy and the answers to the most frequently asked questions here:

The Beurer TL 100: a sun for your desk

With its round shape alone, the TL 100 is reminiscent of a small sun that you can simply place on your desk

But it is a sun with special functions: Firstly, the light intensity can be regulated via 10 levels, and secondly, the lighting duration can be set via a timer. You can also use the lamp as a mood light and choose the light colour yourself or simply let the mood light change colour.

If you're now thinking: "So what? I don't need all that." Then a smaller, cheaper model without the bells and whistles might be more suitable for you. You can read the TL 20 product test here:

More than just a daylight lamp

Personally, I have hardly ever used the timer function for the simple reason that I usually leave the lamp on for longer than the maximum time that can be set. However, I only dare to do this because the TL 100 is equipped with LEDs as a light source and I'm not afraid of a horrendous electricity bill.

If you're interested in my experiences with light therapy in general, you can read about them in my series of experiments. I treated myself to a daily light shower for a fortnight and you can find out whether it improved my mood and alertness here:

In a nutshell

Multifunctional light therapy with extras

The Beurer TL 100 is a versatile daylight lamp that offers more than just light therapy. With its round shape, adjustable light intensity, timer function and moodlight option, it is suitable as a multifunctional desk lamp. The app control and various setting options make it a modern aid against winter blues - without side effects.

Pro

  • Simple operation
  • Energy-efficient LEDs
  • Generous lighting surface (33 cm diameter)
  • App control via Bluetooth (Apple and Android compatible)
  • Timer function for controlled use
  • 10 dimming levels for customised light intensity
  • Versatile functions (light therapy, reading lamp, mood light)

Contra

  • Timer limited to a maximum of 120 minutes
  • Higher price due to more functions than would be necessary for pure light therapy
