Great sound, too bad they usually don't work.
Way too many bugs. I've had a long history of problems since I bought these about a year ago. Left air pod regularly failed, several visits to Apple store in Zurich to determine that it needed to be replaced. Problem persisted, more visits required before deciding the air pods weren't charging properly and the whole thing was replaced. Problem still occurs (left side runs out its charge very fast, this is a common complaint in online forums), although less frequently. There is a function where you open the case beside your iPhone and it tells you what the charge level is for your air pods. This works only about 40% of the time. The sound quality is great for wireless earphones but two consecutive versions of this product have failed. Not great.

From your review I can read that you describe the old airpods that where released 2016. This product page is for the new airpods, released 2019.
Apple has now replaced my airpods with a third set that work well so far. All three pairs are the first-generation airpods.
