Parallel world consisting solely of digital blocks. On this peaceful square Earth, chaos has erupted because it has fallen apart.

Despite its shape, it is still an Earth. It is now in the hands of the EDF to restore peace to this square world.

Create your own EDF unit. EDF members fight alone in various countries around the globe. Help the members so they can join you and form your own team. Each mission can be tackled with a maximum of 4 members. Switch between team members and utilize their unique abilities, which can prove very useful in combat depending on the situation.

Recruit soldiers from previous EDF titles. Characters from the first title "EDF1" ("Monster Attack") to the latest title "Earth Defense Force 5," as well as from spin-off titles, will appear in block form. A wide selection of weapons and vehicles from earlier EDF titles is also included. Whether you are a veteran who feels nostalgia for the series or a beginner playing the title for the first time, a special gaming experience awaits everyone.

The enemy characters from previous titles are also present. The foes that have invaded Earth have crossed into the parallel world to participate in the forbidden war. The familiar enemies will naturally make their appearance in block design.

Cooperative online play and local multiplayer mode. Cooperative online games for up to 4 players are supported, where each player fights with their own team. The local multiplayer mode on the Nintendo Switch allows you to protect the Earth together with your family and friends.
