The IEEE1394b standard is a new serial high-speed bus standard. It is the successor to IEEE1394 and offers users transmission rates of up to 800 Mbit/s. The 9/6-pin connector contains 4 data lines used for data transmission, while the other 2 lines are used for power transmission. Transmission rates of up to 400 Mbit/s are also available.
