Product details
FlexScan models equipped with a high quality IPS panel and LED backlight offer a wide viewing angle of 178° and realistic colour reproduction. As a result, contrast and colour tones hardly change even
when viewed from the side, which is particularly useful for multi-screen installations and for special seating positions. Therefore the visibility conditions are always ideal.
Flickering images cause tired eyes. Due to the usual technology of LED backlighting, flickering images are unfortunately part of everyday life for many users. The monitors of the FlexScan series, on the other hand, use a hybrid technology developed by EIZO. They regulate the brightness in such a way that the user does not perceive any flickering and thus no tired eyes are caused. This is done without compromising on color and image quality.
To prevent eye fatigue, the Auto EcoView sensor continuously measures changes in ambient light and the intelligent monitor control automatically optimises the screen to the ideal brightness values. With Auto EcoView, you save up to 60% electricity compared to a monitor operated at full brightness. A non-reflective screen reduces eye fatigue by dispersing reflected light. All EIZO FlexScan models offer a perfectly anti-reflective surface.
The negative influence of blue light on the health of the eyes is a topic that is still too little considered. It is precisely the high-energy blue light that can irreversibly damage the retina and the retinal pigment epithelium. Typical LCD monitors have a preset color temperature value of 6500 Kelvin, which is very blue light intensive. The paper mode on EIZO monitors automatically optimizes the red light component and simultaneously reduces the blue light component. This massively protects your eyes during intensive work at the monitor and reduces eye fatigue.
Preset color values do not mean that these settings are optimal for all situations. Depending on your needs, you may want different color settings for text documents, images or movies. Commercially available monitors must be laboriously adjusted by hand. EIZO offers the appropriate solution. All current EV models offer several "FineContrast Modes", which are activated by a simple keystroke. Thanks to the ScreenManager Pro software, each application can be assigned a mode so that it is automatically activated when the program starts.
The colour reproduction is controlled by an internal 10-bit Look-Up-Table (LUT). This allows a more accurate gradation of color information than with the usual 8-bit LUTs. A colour temperature control allows white points from 4000 K to 10000 K to be set in 500 K steps. In addition, the color saturation (gain) for RGB colors can be set separately.
The EIZO EcoView Sense sensor switches the monitor into power saving mode when you leave your workplace and switches it on again when you return. Even in a multi-screen work environment, this feature ensures that all monitors remain on when you are present.
