The Kensington Minisaver is suitable for ultrabooks, tablets, convertibles, and 2-in-1 laptops that feature a Kensington security slot or mini security slot. The lock can be attached with one hand at the push of a button using the Cleat locking mechanism. This mechanism deploys claws into the device to ensure a strong grip between the device and the lock.

The main part of the lock is positioned at a certain distance from the housing, allowing all surrounding ports to remain accessible and usable. The swivel and rotating cable provides great freedom of movement and makes it easier to attach and remove the lock.
