With this powerful product, nearly any device with a serial connection can become a fully secure member of the corporate network, making it accessible and manageable from virtually anywhere. Without the need for special software, the EDS4100 can integrate up to four serial RS-232 and/or 254 serial RS-485 devices into the network within minutes. The device's serial data is encapsulated into packets and transported over Ethernet using a method called "Serial Tunneling." Setup is straightforward with the included Windows-based software.
