Product details

The IBM LTO Ultrium 9 data cartridge, model 02XW568, provides enterprise-grade data storage solutions for organizations experiencing significant data growth. This tape cartridge features a native storage capacity of 18 TB and a compressed capacity of up to 45 TB, making it suitable for capacity-specific backup and archiving applications. Transfer speeds reach 400 MB/s in native mode and up to 1000 MB/s with 2.5:1 compression when used with Generation 9 tape drives. The cartridge integrates barium ferrite technology for enhanced data integrity and long-term reliability. It offers full backward read and write compatibility with LTO Generation 8 cartridges and maintains two generations of backward read compatibility. Linear Tape File System compatibility allows for direct file retrieval in native format on LTO media without backup software. Advanced security is provided through AES-256-bit hardware-based encryption, available in rewritable and write-once-read-many models. The simplified tape path design reduces wear during operation, while partitioning capability offers flexible storage management. With an archival lifespan rating of 30 years and 20,000 load/unload cycles, this cartridge ensures long-term data preservation. The operating temperature range is 10-45 °C, with storage temperature requirements of 16-25 °C and humidity storage requirements of 20-50 percent. The tape length is 1035 meters, and cartridges are available with custom, blank, or RFID-integrated labels. Manufactured to high industry standards for quality and reliability, this storage medium offers low error rates, high performance, and sustained long-term operation for enterprise data management needs.
