Optical patch cables (jumper cables) are standardized or custom fiber connection cables that are terminated with optical connectors at both ends. Patch cables are used to connect devices within the distribution frame or to connect active elements to the optical link ending in the distribution frame. Patch cables are typically duplex (2x fiber, 4x connectors), but simplex cables (1x fiber, 2x connectors) can also be supplied for single-fiber xWDM applications upon request. The connectors E2000, SC, and LC are then connected in duplex format with a detachable clip, allowing the separation of the duplex patch cable into two simplex cables (not possible with the robust HEAVY DUPLEX variant).
