You can use both the Aqara M2 and the M3 Hub to use the mentioned products with Apple HomeKit, as both hubs support Zigbee. However, the M3 Hub offers additional functions such as support for Matter and Thread, which offers better compatibility with various smart home platforms. The range of the Aqara DW-S02D is not directly stated, but the range of Zigbee devices usually depends on the distance to the hub and obstacles. Typically, the range in a home is around 10 to 30 metres, depending on the environmental conditions.

This hub is for aqara devices. Even if it does support third parties, it would probably not be reliable. You need something like the "Add To HomeKit Homebridge Server | HomeKit Bridge" or "Hoobs" or, what I would do is to use home assistant. Certainly a bit of a learning curve, but if you are serious about smart-home "home assistant" is extremely cool and powerful. I've been using it for years, first installed it on a raspberryPi, later bought their hardware, never looked back. Integrates pretty much every smarthome device you can think of in one way or the other. Then you can automate, monitor etc. etc. https://www.perplexity.ai/search...

Yes, you can control the devices via the Aqara Hub M3 with the Apple Home app, provided the devices support the Matter standard. The Aqara Hub M3 is Matter-compatible and can serve as a bridge between different smart home ecosystems, including Apple HomeKit, Google Home and others. Here are the steps you can follow: 1. Matter integration: make sure your devices support the Matter standard. Then you can connect the Aqara Hub M3 to the Apple Home app via Matter integration. 2nd setup: First add the Aqara Hub M3 to the Aqara Home app and then select the option to connect it to Apple Home. This allows you to control the devices connected to the hub in the Apple Home app. It is important to note that some functions may vary depending on the connection method (Matter or direct HomeKit integration).

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find out or test this myself. So I'm releasing the question again in case anyone can give me an experience report or has been able to test it.

hello, the bridge can be integrated into homekit... even with matter. the range varies depending on the accessory. cams, for example, can be reached across the entire network... temp.sensors e.g. only approx. 10m or with wifi accespoint correspondingly further:-)
