Good evening, I would like to know if it is normal that my new (I got it yesterday) Pixel 6a gets quite hot even when I go on the internet or text on WhatsApp. Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Hm, there are many possibilities: - have you installed a processor-intensive app that runs in the background? - is the phone setup wizard already done? - is an app like Whatsapp backing up in the background? And otherwise: Reboot is always good for you....

The product description says "optical zoom", but in various reviews I only read about digital zoom. Can someone enlighten me here? Do I have to expect that the other technical details may also be wrong?

Dear Mr Bentz The Google Pixel 6a has a main camera and an ultra-wide-angle lens. So it "only" has a digital zoom. Up to 2x zoom, the pictures still look good. I hope I could help you. With kind regards
