Since I only have the iPad Pro, I can't test the possibility, but even if the Otter Box would perhaps fit the normal iPad 9.7 in terms of dimensions, the cut-outs for the speakers etc. are certainly not in the right places. In my opinion, it won't fit unless there is a special model for the iPad 9.7 (not Pro).
