Yes, it is possible to mirror and retrieve data from a USB stick simultaneously via HDMI using the Samsung multiport adapter (USB-C, 3 ports). - The adapter offers an HDMI interface that allows the screen to be mirrored to an external monitor. - The adapter also has a USB 3.1 interface, which you can use to retrieve data from a USB stick. This adapter is compatible with various Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Tab series, and supports these functions simultaneously.

For general understanding; you have connected the smartphone directly to this multiport adapter, then the power supply unit also to this multiport adapter at the USB-C connection and behind it the splitter and then the capture card ? Because there is no power transfer via HDMI; i.e. you need 2 power supplies; one for the smartphone and one for the Elgato.

Hello The adapter works wonderfully with the Galaxy S20, so it is compatible with Android, yes. I can't say directly whether it works with your Tab S4 because I don't have the device. However, I would like to point out that the adapter does not have an SD slot, so a transfer from SD to the device would not work. The adapter has: 1x USB type A port 1x HDMI port 1x USB-C port (mainly for charging during use) Therefore, you would still need an adapter to SD card.

Does Samsung DeX work here?

Yes, it works perfectly. I use this adapter for my new Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. With the cover, it's too thick for the DeX-Pad I previously used for my Note 8. The Note 10+ just doesn't fit on the DeX-Pad anymore, it's 1-2 mm off. I would have to take off the protective cover every time.... This adapter solved the problem. My Note 10+ works perfectly with it.

that's enough. i've done this with the TV many times...it's generally the same principle. it would also work with a chromcast.

2 ways to solve this: 1: plug your original phone charger into 230V and its USB-C into the multiport. Connect your phone to the multiport. It will charge (not as fast as if you directly charged the phone). 4 hours from 30% to full. 2: connect the Samsung Galaxy S10e to the multiport and place it on a wireless charger (15W). 2 hours from 30% to full. I tried this also by surfing the web using the monitor, sending an email and talking on the phone via bluetooth headset at the same time. The wireless charger was still adding more juice to the phone's battery than I was draining.
