The load and the power supply unit co-ordinate how much power is supplied to the connected device. This plug-in power supply can deliver a maximum of 140 watts to output 1 or 2. I could therefore operate two laptops with 70 watts each. If I also want to charge the iPad at output 3, the maximum total output power is reduced by the respective 20 watts and at port 4 by a further 18 watts. To charge just one iPad, I would charge it at port 3 via USB-C (20W) or at port 4 (18W) via USB-A. At port 1 or 2, I could still charge my Galaxy S23U (and that of my colleague) with 45W thanks to Power Delivery (PD) and the maximum 140W from the plug-in power supply.
