2024 no longer a recommendation
Three or four years ago it was a no-brainer. Now many functions have been removed, streaming games from the PC no longer works, lots of adverts, outdated operating system. Save your money and go straight for a chromecast 4k, at least you can still activate the "app only" mode to avoid adverts. EDIT: App only mode now also shows adverts, thanks Google

Genius part, I would buy again at any time
Was out of stock for a long time, but it was worth the wait. Had 2 Android TV boxes before, but this is really no comparison. Everything works and runs smoothly. Also no comparison to my Sony TV, which also uses AndroidTV as software, but Sony has saved on memory and processor. Really no comparison to the Shield TV Pro.
On the subject of gaming I can not say anything, because I have not bought it for the purpose, but I personally would probably rather reach for the PS4, which is only slightly more expensive and there is then also a controller. The remote control is also pretty awesome, lighting comes on when you looks at lifts, everything is where it belongs. Only the Netflix button is too dominant and can not be assigned otherwise so far. Btw. I use Netflix.
Negatives: actually nothing, except for the price, but compared to other TV boxes is justified.Good product

Best Streaming Box
This box meets my requirements exactly. Kodi also runs wonderfully. AirPlay has never worked so well outside of AppleTV devices. Nvidia Shield TV Pro runs fast, smoothly without jerking. Very satisfied.

We only use the Android TV part now, unfortunately with regular hangs (on startup green screen) or no sound.
Addendum after another year:
Downgrade to 1 star, on the home screen now comes advertising and the screen of green is still not fixed. I would not buy it again.Pro
