This device is advertised as being able to run the monitor and charge your laptop at the same time with just one USB-C cable. What is not mentioned is that you need a second cable (USB-A to USB-B, which is NOT included!) to run the monitor's built-in USB hub (3x USB plus 1x USB upstream to charge your phone)!
My idea, of course, was to put my laptop somewhere neat and closed, connect it with USB-C to the monitor where all peripherals (mouse, keyboard and webcam) are already connected. No fumbling every time, no cables all over the table. Unfortunately, this is now not possible, which I find disappointing.
Provided someone yet somehow gets the USB hub with only a USB-C cable to run, please respond to my question here in the forum! But as far as I understand it, Philips support didn't have a better idea either, other than using USB-C AND the USB-A to B cable.
The screen quality itself is good and I have nothing else to say about the monitor. I'm keeping it now, but with a bit of a "stomachache" that I have once again fallen for advertising promises. Too bad.
I use the monitor with a MacBook Air M1 and connect it via a USB-C cable. Picture and sound are transmitted and the laptop is also charged. However, the USB ports built into the monitor do not work - you would need to connect a second cable, not included, between the monitor and the laptop to enable them. This is nowhere clearly mentioned in the product description, on the contrary, it even talks about the fact that with a USB-C cable image, sound and data can be transferred and that is so not true. You can NOT connect peripherals such as a webcam to the monitor, if only the USB-C cable is needed as a connection between laptop and monitor. Thus, the USB hub loses its purpose for me.
It would be a good and relatively inexpensive product, would the USB hub only work properly or as specified. That was the reason why I bought the product. I hope that I can exchange the product - I know by now that a real USB hub with only one cable is no problem with other suppliers.

In fact, no USB port connection of the integrated hub to the USB-C port. Completely inexplicable why such an important feature is not available and that is actually nowhere...and you have to find out at home when trying it out.
Dear Philips, the USB-C port for notebooks has the stated goal of only having to run ONE cable to the monitor. And not to have to manually switch the USB Up port between devices when connecting multiple devices!
Conclusion: Hands off, better buy the Philips 346B1C/00, which can do that with the USB-C. If only it were available:-(
