    Disappointing

I have had several galaxy watches and thought the ultra was a nice combination of features and battery life. Unfortunately, after a week of use, I have to say that there was no wow effect. In fact, disappointment prevails. The quality/performance/price ratio is definitely insufficient.

Many things ultra, some less so

Samsung shows ambition with the Watch Ultra: bigger, flashier, pricier. While testing, I genuinely liked the watch with its bright screen, massive look and sturdy titanium finish. It’s fun, comfortable and impresses with countless features.

However, the smartwatch doesn’t fulfil its ultra claim in all areas. The battery doesn’t last long enough, and its energy-saving option isn’t well thought out. Additionally, it lacks a rotating crown.

Without a doubt, the Ultra is currently Samsung’s best watch. But for many, the extra charge compared to the Galaxy Watch 7 will likely be too high – especially in relation to the technical differences, which aren’t massive.

It’s also a pity that some features such as the ECG can only be used in combination with a Samsung cell phone. This further reduces the attractiveness of the watch for users with an Android device from another brand.

    • screen too small for the housing
    • lack of detail, on the night dial for example

    Highly recommended.

    Highly recommended
    I am highly satisfied.
    Battery life is very good.
At first I wanted to criticise the battery life a little, but after wearing it for a while this has changed. Of course, the sensors have to calibrate themselves
to the wearer, which certainly costs more energy at the beginning. After about a week, the battery life - depending on the configuration (constant measurements etc.) - is very comfortable for me at around 2 days. The charging time from 5% to 100% of approx. 2 hours is also great.
    Very good display.
    Very good workmanship.

    Contra

    • Enormous number of configuration settings
    • For certain analyses, you have to allow Google and Samsung full insight into your physical condition

    Advertising bordering on the misleading

This watch is advertised as being resistant to -100 metres / 10 atm, but in reality it is nothing more than suitable for swimming on the surface. I was waiting for it as I don't know how it will turn out with the Huawei Ultimate Watch. Whatever, I'll wait again... what a shame!

    Contra

    • Not waterproof
    • Not suitable for water sports

Switch from Garmin Epix 2 to Galaxy Watch Ultra

I am very happy with the change as I wanted better smartwatch functions. The design and quality of workmanship are excellent. The range of functions, including the health analytics centred around the bioactive sensor, is enormous.
GPS is accurate and comparable with my Epix 2, and the optical heart rate is even more accurate (I wasn't so happy with the Epix 2).
