The thing is fantastic once it works. I have a hobby room in the basement of the building next door. I pull the internet from my home to the other building, as the crow flies, about 15 metres through 2 buildings. Previously 1 bar with disconnections and a transfer rate of about 200kb/s. Now about 9MB/s-15MB/s, which is more than sufficient.
Unfortunately, I first had to adjust the energy settings in Windows. I had (like some others, see internet) the problem that the device is permanently recognised by the USB port / Windows and then is off again, on, off... I have a brand new business HP laptop (EliteBook 860 G10, intel i7). Thanks to the internet, I found the solution on Reddit.
Most modern Windows PCs have power saving settings enabled to disable USB peripherals to save power. Usually, this can be set either through your PC's power plan or through the Device Manager for the USB device. To do this, open the device manager, find the adapter, right-click on it and select "Properties". Then click on the "Power Management" tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" checkbox.

couldn't be happier, I got it because the built-in adapter in my work laptop gets only 1-2 WiFi bars in my home office corner, with the TP-Link it's full reception, resulting in a much quicker connection to router at a confirmed 1.2Gbps (on 5 GHz) and lower latency.

WIFI 6 reception, hardly notice that we are no longer connected to the LAN. Used with a TP-Link Archer 73.
