The SilverStone ECU04-E is a PCI-E Gen 2.0 x2 expansion card featuring an internal 19-pin USB 3.1 connector (supporting two ports). It enhances the original ECU04 design with two reDriver chips for significantly improved performance over longer cable connections. This allows the dual 10 Gb/s bandwidth transfer rate to be maintained even at lengths of up to 2 meters, as opposed to the 1-meter limitation of USB 3.1. The ECU04-E is also backward compatible with USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 and supports UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) for enhanced performance. On operating systems with XHCI (eXtensible Host Controller Interface), the ECU04-E can be installed without drivers, as it also supports XHCI. For those looking to upgrade or add additional USB 3.1 ports or devices to their computer, the ECU04-E is a great starting point.
