It is the new version of the carbon fiber rod with a smoother surface. It fits into the 15mm rod clamp, but its surface is no longer shiny, as SmallRig has redesigned it based on feedback from some customers. Carbon fiber rods are much lighter than stainless steel rods, yet they are incredibly stiff and durable.
