The SP 150-600mm G2 (Generation 2) ultra-telephoto zoom lens features enhanced optical properties that deliver impressive image results. This new lens is a logical evolution of the current SP 150-600mm (Model A011), which was first introduced by Tamron in December 2013. It offers improved overall optics, faster autofocus speed, enhanced image stabilization, a fluorine coating, the newly developed FLEX ZOOM LOCK, and compatibility with teleconverters.

The new 150-600mm G2 has been manufactured according to strict quality standards and design specifications, combining intelligent technology and high performance with craftsmanship, durability, and user-friendliness.

The SP 150-600mm G2 provides improved optical performance and quality for greater enjoyment. It includes three low dispersion (LD) elements that significantly reduce chromatic aberrations. The optical construction consists of a total of 21 elements in 13 groups. Two special coatings, eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular Dependency) and BBAR (Broad Band Anti-Reflection), offer excellent anti-reflective properties. Ghosting and unwanted flare, especially in night photography, are effectively eliminated, even when photographing subjects with backlighting.

Another improvement is the reduced minimum object distance (MOD), which is now 2.2 meters, opening up new possibilities in tele-macro photography.

To capture sharp images of fast and distant subjects, the 150-600mm G2 is equipped with an ultrasonic silent drive (USD) that provides excellent responsiveness and control. The autofocus speed has been significantly improved, allowing for precise high-speed focusing and accurate detection of rapidly moving objects.
