I have been using the HTCU12+ for about 1.5 years. Here are the answers from my experience:

Battery life:
After a day of normal use, I have about 30-40% left at 22:00 in the evening, after an intensive day I have about 10% left at 20:00 (without charging in between, a day starts at 06:00).

Hardbuttons:
The buttons work reliably for me 98% of the time. Only very rarely do the volume buttons cause problems

Overheating:
I have never had problems with this, but I rarely use the camera for more than 5-10 minutes.

Camera:
The normal camera has a focal length of 27mm and the zoom camera has a focal length of 54mm.
