Can the labels also be used outdoors? Are they waterproof and sunlight resistant?
Basically, direct thermal printing is a method of printing labels cheaply and very quickly. No matter which labels are used, they still react to heat, abrasion and light. They could be waterproof to a certain extent, but otherwise they are not really suitable for outdoor use. If the sun shines directly on them, the print will quickly become unrecognisable.
Thermal transfer printers are more suitable. Disadvantages: slower and a good deal more expensive. In addition, a print ribbon has to be replaced every now and then, from which the print emanates. But depending on the model, they are also more high-resolution.
The standard labels do not, but the films do, e.g. DK-22212 or DK-22113. However, the adhesion varies greatly depending on the substrate.
