Completely overpriced. It has no image stabiliser and starts at 28mm instead of 24mm. For less money (currently CHF 810) there is the Sony FE 24-240 https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/sony-fe-24-240mm-f35-63-oss-full-frame-e-mount-objektiv-3528179 which has a baton and a wider focal length range. The Tamron's initial speed of f2.8 is a joke. Already at 30mm it goes down to f3.5. The Sony A7 cameras have a stabilised sensor from the second generation onwards, but it's not that good that it's really useful at 200mm. The Sony lenses in this range don't all have a stabiliser (OSS) in them just for the fun of it. Tamron simply left it out to save costs and weight.

Helpful answer

Only the Tamron 28-200mm is optically much better and also smaller and lighter.
