M.2 was only officially introduced at the end of 2013 and the MacBook uses Apple's own connector.

To the best of my knowledge, the standard SSDs are not compatible with Apple MacBooks. Apple has always cooked its own soup, so you could only get guaranteed working accessories through Apple and partners. Apple also has the luxury of a special interface for SSDs, so I suspect that the Crucial P3 Plus will not be recognised.
