Hello, I only have limited knowledge of PC hardware. I am looking for a graphics card for Full HD where I can play Anno 1800 with full details without any problems. I have come across RX 5700 XT. My mainboard "only" supports PCI-E 3.0 and I have an AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, 3600MHz, 6-core processor and 8GB RAM installed. Overkill or sensible? Thanks

Helpful answer

Hi, the 5700XT is AMD's best graphics card on the market. The question is whether or not you also want to screw around with the rest of your hardware. Your Prozi should be enough for Anno 1800, but I would go a bit higher with the RAM. So maybe a 5700 without XT and an 8Gb Ram upgrade?
Greetings AJ

You can never have enough GPU power when gaming, especially at high resolutions. Whether a Ryzen 1600X can handle Anno 1800 at max settings and 60 fps is another question. The Radeon 5700XT will certainly fit, but consider a CPU & RAM upgrade at some point. Pretty much all old X370 boards support Ryzen 3000, as well as many B350s.

I can only agree with @Surxenberg and @AJ-Computer.
I run the Saphire RX5700XT Pulse with a Ryzen7 1700X and 32GB RAM at a resolution of 5120*1440.
Most games are no longer playable at Max. But since you play in FullHD, 60FPS should almost always be possible with this card. I would recommend an upgrade to at least 16GB RAM anyway and possibly a Ryzen 5 3600 incl. board.
