How can I connect my MacBook Pro 2015 to this monitor with ONE cable and which cable do I need for this? I only have Thunderbolt 2, USB-A and HDMI connection.
Hello Freexsty
I have the same model. With HDMI cable it works without problems. The power supply still runs separately. Small input on the side: I would only use the laptop with the lid closed. As soon as the image has to be displayed for both monitors, the fan starts.
Addendum: I don't use a Thunderbolt 2 cable at all, but a "Full USB 3.1 Gen 2" cable and that works for monitor operation and as a docking station. By the way, I have Thunderbolt-3 and not Thunderbolt-2. So please check my advice critically first and try it out, as I have no idea about Thunderbolt-2. My advice above applies to Thunderbolt-3.
Simply connect the Thunderbolt 2 cable to USB-C1 on the Philips. The HDMI cable is then no longer necessary, but useful because the Philips can then be switched between the two monitor inputs. In addition, the Thunderbolt 2 cable turns the Philips monitor into a docking station and the many ports on the Philips can also be used. At least, that's how it works with a normal laptop.... I can't say whether the USB-C1 of the Philips with its 75 watts can also charge the laptop (or MacBook), because my Lenovo has a separate charging input.
