How does it connect with the Surface? Bluetooth? Or by the physical connection? Basically, does it work as an external keyboard when not physically connected to the Surface but at 10-15cm away? Thanks

Helpful answer

Does not work if not connected to the Surface. Its not Bluetooth - it connected mechanically by terminals in the magnetic strip. It works well - the keyboard is illuminated.

It is directly attached... does not work while disconnected from the surface.
