I bought a fan like this, there are 2 cables 1x the normal 4-pin cable and then a second one marked RGB (is also 4-pin). I still have exactly 2 fan connections free, can I simply connect both plugs from the fan to the mainboard or do I have to get an adapter for RGB? I don't want to break anything

The RGB plug must be plugged into a Node, Node Pro or Commander. Otherwise your LEDs will not light up. Actually, you should see that the plug does not fit on your MB.
