I can't connect my MacBook Air to the HDMI - or the projector can't find a signal. Has anyone experienced this problem? Apple support couldn't help me either.

I know this problem in connection with the connection to a TV. The problem is usually caused by the docking station. I can recommend this HP Universal Multiport:

Time to say goodbye to it. Apple is at best 'something for the eye'. Nobody who knows anything about technology buys Apple products. It's a bit like Italian cars.
