I have installed this new hard drive (Synology Plus Series HAT3310-12T) in my Synology 920+. This is because a Seagate Ironwolf has gone. My specific question: Is it normal that this hard drive sounds like an old dot matrix printer? The hard drive is much louder and the rattling of the other hard drives can no longer be heard, but now it is a piercing "nailing" of the new hard drive.
I have 2x12 TB... and it's the same with me. Very loud. Unfortunately.
I have several of these discs in operation. There are no noticeable noises in my NAS.
Hoi do you have a production year?
15.12.2023?
Mine also ring a little louder but not annoyingly so.
