Question about WD My Passport - for Mac

I have just received the Passport. Unfortunately, I only now saw that the USB does not fit the Mac from 2013. I used the USB cable from the old Passport. But backing up from the Mac now takes over 22 hours!!!! In addition, the Passport makes strange buzzing noises when you hold it in your hand during the backup. Why does everything always have to be so complicated? Can't something just work, like it always did?

My goodness. It comes with a USB-A cable and a USB-C adapter. So you can connect it to a MAC in any case. You can see the scope of delivery here:

Taking a running hard drive in your hand is a very bad idea. This is not an SSD but a mechanical hard drive with rotating disks (!). There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding. You can't get an SSD at this price.
