is it also compatible with the ps4 AND the ps5? I need it for the ps4, but it would be a shame if it doesn't work on the ps5 when it becomes available again...

Is compatible with both. The crucial thing is that it is formatted with exFAT.
You can take any USB 3.0 hard drive and format it via the console menu, as well as on the PC/notebook.
