Is the range of the signal good enough to play hockey with the belt and record the data via IPhone 6s (centre of the pitch) so that I can record and evaluate the training sessions?

No. The signal reaches a maximum of 4 metres.
The best thing is to pair the belt with a fitness wristband.
I, for example, use the Polar Loop.
