be quiet! Silent Loop 2
My Moher board (Asus ROG Strix X570-E) has 4-pin connectors for AIO_PUMP, W_PUMP+, CPU_FAN, etc. According to the board manual, the pump must be connected to the AIO_PUMP. However, the cooler comes with 3-pin connectors. Will this still work or do I need another adapter? Can the Silent Loop 2 PWM?
Modern boards can do both. To do this, you must set the Aio pump to DC in the bios under Qfan. (DC=direct current and regulation via voltage).
The fans, on the other hand, are PWM. Plug the 3x4pin splitter into the CPU fan header. Set it to PWM in the Bios.
If the fans draw too much current, you have to reconnect one of them. Use the CPU opt fan header and possibly a 4pin extension cable.
You can create a fan curve manually in the bios or select predefined profiles, but you can also leave everything set to "Auto".
The pump itself is hardly audible at full speed from the housing. When throttled, the AIO loses quite a bit of performance and the installed silent wings are anything but silent when they are cranked up.
For hot-headed AMD prozis and motherboards that have enough space around the socket and the first M2 slot, the Arctic Cooling in Rev. 4 with the offset mound is the stag among the AIOs. Ugly, yes, but powerful and quiet. It is possible that the offset mount of the Strix will get in the way of the M2 slot.
