New not damaged does not work with Windows 10 How to return?
I have had the Lide400 now since the switch to Windows 10, because the previous model was not compatible with Windows 10. I have Windows 10 Pro and the thing runs perfectly and without problems. Returning it and getting a new Lide400 doesn't solve the problem. Something is obviously wrong with you, and it's not the scanner. Note also that Canon has made a splendid mistake here with the USB cable that comes with the scanner. This cable looks like an ordinary USB cable with a USB-3 connector, but you are warned that this cable is only suitable for the Lide400, and that you should only use this cable for the Lide400. Is obviously its own wiring in the outer USB look, makes mess. Read lines 2 and 3 of the excerpt from the operating instructions below very carefully:
- The scanner is designed to produce optimal results when connected to a USB 3.0 or higher port with the supplied USB cable.
-> Connect the USB cable supplied with the scanner to a USB 3.0 or higher port.
-> The supplied USB cable is for the scanner only. It cannot be used for other devices.
- Connect the Type-C side to the scanner. For details, see Scanner Connection Method.
I work with a Mac. The device works very well and is very handy.
The Lide400 works for me, but not with USB 3! With the cable plugged into USB 2, the thing works.
I work with Windows 10Pro and the device works perfectly!
Possibly exchange the scanner at digitec - maybe it is faulty.
