I don't know the difference.
But I use the XT Pulse in a Razer Core X case on a 2018 Mac Mini under Catalina for Photoshop image editing.
The card works without any problems and makes the Mini really fast.
When starting up (when completely switched off), the monitor should first be connected directly to the Mac Mini, as the eGPU is not always recognised, which then gives a black screen. To do this, I connected a Thunderbolt cable to the monitor in addition to the Display Port cable from the eGPU, which I then connect to the Mini. It seems a bit awkward, but it's not so bad.
