When a forest fire destroys her dad's house, thirteen-year-old Maudie begins a summer that will change her life. They move into a camper by the beach, where they spend the holidays together. Maudie feels free in the place where her dad grew up. She learns to surf, loves the feeling of the water, and even participates in a competition. It feels so good!
