The book "Planting the Natural Garden" was published in 2003 (the German edition was released in 2005 by DVA under the title "My Favorite Plants," 144 pages) and was the first standard work on the topic of naturalistic garden design. At the time, it sparked a true revolution in landscape design, known as the "New Perennial Movement," which paved the way for new, modern, naturally appearing plantings that predominantly use perennials and grasses (without annuals and with minimal woody plants).
