Thirteen-year-old Emilia has been riding for several years and is overjoyed when she gets the pony gelding Valentin. However, she soon receives a harsh reality check, as her trainer is anything but gentle with her and Valentin. When a dramatic riding accident occurs as a result, Emilia realizes: she no longer wants to ride this way, and she cannot and will not continue to handle her pony like this! During a visit to Gut Aubenhausen, Emilia meets dressage rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, who offers to train her and Valentin. With the help of the successful rider, it seems that Emilia is gradually regaining her confidence in herself and her pony.
