Katja Richert grew up in a small village in Lower Saxony and entertained family, friends, and the entire neighborhood with her stories from an early age. Later, she moved to various cities, where she initially studied educational science and then worked as an editor. However, at some point, so many ideas were swirling in her head that she decided to become an author herself. Today, she lives with her family again in the small village where it all began.

Sabine Kraushaar wanted to illustrate children's books since she was a little girl. She studied graphic design at the Art Academy in Maastricht, became self-employed, and thus fulfilled her childhood dream. Today, she is considered one of the most renowned children's book illustrators.
