Philip Kerr was born in 1956 in Edinburgh. His first novel, "Fire in Berlin," was published in 1989. This debut led to the series featuring private detective Bernhard Gunther. For the sixth volume, "The Adlon Conspiracy," Philip Kerr won the world's most prestigious crime fiction award from the Spanish media group RBA and the renowned Ellis Peters Award. Kerr lived in London, where he passed away in 2018.

Uwe-Michael Gutzschhahn, born in 1952, studied English and German studies, completing his education with a doctorate. He worked for many years as a program director and publishing editor at various publishing houses and now lives as an author, translator, editor, and freelance editor in Munich. His books have received multiple awards.
Illustrator: Regina Kehn
Regina Kehn studied illustration at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg. Since 1990, she has worked as a freelance illustrator for magazines and children's and young adult book publishers. Regina Kehn was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in 1993 and 2014 for her illustrations and received the bronze medal in the illustration category from the Art Directors Club in 1996. She lives in Hamburg with her husband and their two daughters.
