Question about Jabra Evolve 30 II Duo UC
Does anyone know what could be causing the microphone sound quality to plummet when connected via USB to a Windows 11 laptop? The recording quality with the microphone is good both on my mobile and on my Windows 10 desktop PC. It also sounds good directly with the 3.5" jack plug on the Windows 11 laptop. But as soon as I connect the headset to the laptop via USB, the recorded sound is totally dull, metallic, noisy and sounds like an MP3 that has been compressed 2000 times in a row to 32 kbps. Nobody understands me in calls. As I still want to use the USB connection due to the otherwise too short cable length, I would like to solve this problem. I have already tried all possible Windows sound settings, but nothing has made any difference. And no, unfortunately there is no alternative to Windows 11 as this is my work laptop...

Once again, the vibe coders at Microsoft were to blame. Apparently the quality setting was set to "phone quality" at 8 kHz. But the settings showed "DVD quality" at 48 kHz. To fix the problem, I first had to change the setting to 8 kHz, save, go back to 48 kHz and then save again. But ATTENTION: The option is available in both the modern "Settings" app and the old sound system control. However, the option has no effect at all in the "Settings", it only works in the control panel.
