Hoi 
I have just tried a few different settings (light/dark/colour). After I disconnected the power for a good 20 seconds, the light came back on in the last configuration. However, I don't know how long the "information" is stored in the controller's memory.
Hopefully this information is enough for you to make a purchase decision.
