The upper is made of water-repellent and slip-resistant mesh consisting of three layers, providing good wrapping and structure from the inside out. The seamless construction ensures additional comfort. The innovative MicroLite Skeleton™ applications dynamically follow the movements of the foot, while the structural Flex-Guard™ applications minimize weight while providing a barrier against wear that can occur when running over roots and rocks.

Extraordinary stability is ensured by the TrailCage System™ technology, which is located between the two upper layers. It offers structure and good foot embedding and is integrated into the lacing system.

The sole, developed by the La Sportiva R&D department, features the new grippy shoe profile FriXion XT with Impact Brake System and offers an exclusive design as well as Trail Rocker technology, which supports the natural foot strike of "heel outside - toe inside" while running. Cushioning, protection, and comfort are the three aspects of a perfect geometry, inspired by origami design. With Akyra, winter running becomes an art.
