The development of the Hollowtech II crankset was aimed at achieving optimal and efficient power transfer. The Hollowtech technology allows for extremely lightweight, hollow crank arms, manufactured using Shimano's exclusive forging technology to ensure maximum stiffness. Additionally, in the Hollowtech II set, the right crank is firmly connected to the axle, achieving an optimal balance between maximum stiffness and minimal weight.
